Sydney Majors 12-13 September 2026

Our club hosted this year's Sydney Majors Backgammon Tournament. 

The format is a 2-day open-ended triple elimination Swiss

We had 17 entries from far and wide and the placings were:

1st Place: Mick Dyett

2nd Place: Michel Gerges

3rd Place: Jim Bean

Angelo Voulgaris was the drawn jackpot but failed in his quest.

Deputy Sheriff Paula ran the tournament as the Sheriff was defending (successfully) his ladder points against the Giantslayer, Carol.

Gary reminded the players that we are running the Sydney Majors this weekend and encouraged their attendance.

 On the first day of spring 35 players locked horns.

An ecstatic Nick Macoun won our host club's jackpot draw of $4000.

Sheriff Gary was declared Player-of-the-Month for August and, also being ladder leader, will face Giantslayer Carol Wakelin and try to defend his ladder points.

Farshad was the drawn jackpot but was stopped in his tracks by Aram in the second round.
