Wednesday February 22nd 2023

Our numbers are holding nicely with 24 players battling it out.

We welcomed two new players, Vasgen Panosian and Ed Hall who came a creditable 3rd in the tournament.

Gary Stavrou was drawn as the jackpot player but was cut down to size by Aslin Sagnaklar in the second round.

No new players tonight, but even with some of our regulars missing we had
19 players on the boards.

Jim Bean was drawn as both the bye and the jackpot player but could not capitalise on the bonus.

Another terrific night of backgammon with 26 players jostling for positions.

Two new players were welcomed, Arash Aldaghi and Nader Ghomi. And, for the second week in a row, a newcomer, in this case Arash, took out 1st prize.

Acting Tournament Director Dilhun Akpinar, was (again) drawn as the Jackpot player but in spite of starting strongly with two wins was downed at the last post by Adam Makda.

A reminder that entries to our online tournament, 3 Strikes, close on Monday 13th.

A hip replacement 12 days ago couldn't keep Gary Stavrou away from the boards. Here he enjoys a night off from tournament directing

Wednesday February 1st 2023

On the first day of a new month, and with some of our regulars missing, we still had a healthy turnout of 18 players for tonight's competition.

Once again  this included one new player, Pejman Golshahi – PJ to his friends!!

The jackpot player was drawn and Payman Tehrani got the nod but did not make the placings.

Top spot was taken by new player PJ – I think we may see him again !!
