Wednesday May 29

No photos tonight due to the absence of our news-lady, Carol Wakelin.

We had a turnout of eleven.

Mahnaz Rostami was the jackpot player but failed to convert the opportunity to a win
The jackpot now stands at $96

Our new format of three rounds of 5-7-9 points is proving to be very popular as it affords more variety to the play.

The night's winners were:
1st place, Giancarlo Yannoulis
2nd place, Arthur Ramer
3rd place, Grayham Rundle

Wednesday May 22

Our first night in our new format drew 11 players including one new person - Welcome Hamish Moore!!

The new format consists of three matches with increasing points.
5 points for the 1st round,  7 points for the 2nd round  and the final round is to 9 points. Playing time is about the same but the longer matches give more scope for creative cube play.

Jim Bean was drawn as the jackpot player, which is a healthy $84, but was unable to take it out.

We also welcomed back Giancarlo after hip surgery – he is walking very well and also playing well ending up in the top spot.

Arhur Ramer scooped up 2nd place, and Rafael Chattah, another of our newer players, was also in the money for the first time.

Wednesday May 15

The final night of our three-week Club Challenge was played tonight and the atmosphere was tense as all competitors juggled for position.

Final placings were:

Pat Halpin in 1st place took home the coveted crystal cube and $390. Pat is our Club Champion for 2019.
Arthur Ramer came in 2nd and pocketed $195.
Mohammad Nejati took the consolation prize of $65

Our regular Wednesday tournament resumes next week in a slightly different format.
The original 4 x 5-point matches will be replaced with a three match format with the first match being for 5 points, a 7-pointer for the second round and the last round being a 9-point match.

A housekeeping note: can everyone please try to remember to put their Nemo money in – we were two lots short this week.

See everyone next Wednesday !!
