Wednesday January 26th 2022

A very select little group of 6 played the Australia day tournament

which made for a reasonably early night !

Newish member Adam Makda (it was his 2ndnight) was chosen as the jackpot player , and at the end of the night he claimed first place and the jackpot - not a princely sum – just $15 , but we all know that winning on Wednesday is not about the money, its about the position at the top of the board!

Final placings were:

1st     Adam Makda

2nd     John Symon

3rd      Gary Stavrou

4th      Peter Voulgaris

No photos this week – the photographer was too occupied playing!

See you all again next week, when, hopefully we will have a few more of the regulars around.

Wednesday January 19th 2022

Covid and the holiday season are still keeping our numbers down.

We had 11 playing tonight including a new addition to our ranks, Adam Makda, who hails from Perth.

Adam settled right in to our happy little group, walking away with second prize.

Ben Scarf drew the jackpot but failed to convert it to a win.

Next Wednesday is Australia Day and we will be playing as usual.

Wednesday January 12th 2022

Inclement weather and covid concerns combined to keep our group down to eleven for tonight's tournament.

The jackpot player was drawn and tonight one of our newest members, Ben Scarf, was awarded the chance at jackpot glory but it was not to be.

The final results were:

1st   Carol Wakelin

2nd  Andrew Scarfe

3rd  Tied were Angelo Voulgaris and Gary Stavrou

See you all next week!

PS

Carol was to modest to record that she alone won all three matches played tonight. (Gary)

Wednesday January 5, 2022

Welcome to the first report of the new year, a year that will, hopefully, be better than the last two in respect of the on-going pandemic.

A very select little group of ten players attended tonight and after clarifying the new format of 3 x 7-point matches, the jackpot player was drawn so that play could begin.

David Stubbs got the first opportunity but was not able to take advantage of it on this occasion.

The final results were:

1st   David Reitzin

2nd   Dilhun Akpinar

3rd   Peter Voulgaris

4th   Hammon Mans

Apologies for the lack of photos tonight – I left my phone at home, but will resume snapping next week!
